Superintendent Weekly Update
from the desk of Kathy Amos
September 11, 2020
Fast forward to March 14, 2020.
As North Carolinians we were listening once again in disbelief, Stay at Home Orders. What does that mean, no school for two weeks? On that day we slowed down, prayed, spent time with our families, were thankful we were healthy, we were united in the fight and we were one.
Six months into the pandemic and this is hard. This is not fun. We long for our normal routines.
As we all work our way through the ups and downs in life, never let us forget, in this moment in time, here we are together. As educators and people who love kids, I thank you for answering the call and making this your life's work - meaningful and purposeful work - roll up your sleeves hard work.
Thank you for helping me hold onto the kids at every level. Students find routine and strength through their teachers. You bring them reassurance, positivity, hope, humor, knowledge. You teach them how to think critically and how to remain positive during these uncertain times.
Stay strong, stay steadfast and uplift each other every day.
Now let's remember the good times in September:)
